JUNE WALKING TOUR AND GENERAL MEETING

The June General Meeting of the Grayson County Historical Society was held on the 12th at the Jack Thomas House. After a brief General Meeting of the Membership, local city and county executives were on-hand for the signing of the Grayson County History Week declaration. Next, presentation of the 2018 History Scholarship of $500 was made to Grayson County Senior Haley Elizabeth McDowell. After a few pictures were made, the event moved outside.

Approximately 15 people gathered outside to take the hike around the historic Leitchfield Public Square. The group was led by Vice-President Scott Carter using the tour compiled by previous Director Greg Bernard. The tour lasted almost an hour and a half, and like always, members of the group added more history and folklore to the tour. The tour encompasses the entire historic district which includes the square and the buildings extending out one block.

If you missed out on all the fun, don't worry, the Historicl Walking Tour will be held again next year. Make sure to keep an eye on our schedule or follow us on FACEBOOK for the latest information.
